Asahina Yasutomo was a strategist for the Imagawa Clan and a future daimyo who presided in Totomi Province.
Biography[]
Yasutomo was the son of Asahina Yasayoshi, and born into Imagawa Yoshimoto's control. He would become a talented officer in the Imagawa ranks, aiding his lord during the march on Kyoto, but during the campaign, Yoshimoto was killed at the Battle of Okehazama. In the end, Yasutomo found himself in free rein. In 1569 he decided to aid Imagawa family member Ujizane unsuccessfully defend Kakegawa Castle against a furious Tokugawa Ieyasu. He fled to Odawara Castle in Sagami Province, under the control of Hojo Ujiyasu, and fought in his later campaigns.
