Torii Mototada was a general of the Tokugawa Clan.

Biography Edit

Mototada was a daimyo, ruling the Torii Clan. He served under command of Tokugawa Ieyasu during his campaigns such as the Battle of Komaki and the Battle of Ueda Castle. In 1600, he took part in the Battle of Echigo Province. He was responsible for destroying villages loyal to daimyo Uesugi Kagekatsu. Later that year, he took part in the Battle of Tokaido Road where he captured the vital trade route owned by the Western Army. His campaigning came to an end at Fushimi Castle, where he was cornered by Shimazu Yoshihisa. Losing the battle and his men, he committed suicide.
